Tuesday 10th January would see the first round of league fixtures since the league split with all teams looking to build on their points in their league.

Premier Division

Old Boys 3 v 2 Cornerhouse Bhoys

The Old Boys welcomed the Cornerhouse Bhoys to St Malachy’s on Tuesday night with both teams looking to build on their recent performances and it would be Ciaran Smyth against Kieran Adams to start the match. Ciaran would start the better of the two players as he would score well in the first two legs for a 2-0 lead that would include 17 and 27 dart legs. The third leg would see Ciaran continue to score well and would seal the 3-0 win by taking out tops, 1-0 Old Boys. The second game of the night would see Pat Crangle against Jim Rooney and it would be Pat to take the first leg in an even contest between the two. The second leg would continue to see both players put good scores on the board but again it would be Pat to get the double and make it 2-0 and in the third leg Pat would seal the 3-0 win to make it 2-0 overall to the Old Boys. The third game of the night would see Paddy Cassidy against John Madden and the players would share the first two legs at 1-1 after some good scoring from both players. The third leg would see Paddy regain the lead, getting the double in an even leg and in the fourth leg Paddy would seal the 3-1 win with a 18 dart leg, 3-0 Old Boys. The fourth game of the night would see Aidan Braniff against Darren Corbett and it would be Aidan to take the early lead in an even contest. Darren would level straight away though with a 24 dart leg and Darren would take the lead for the first time in the third leg after some good scoring. The fourth leg would see Darren seal the 3-1 win with a 20 dart leg and make it 3-1 overall. The fifth and final game of the night would see Chris Neeson against Chris McAlinden with Chris McAlinden racing into a 2-0 lead that would include a 47 CO. The third leg would see Chris McAlinden seal the 3-0 win in a leg that included a 180 and make the final score 3-2 Old Boys.

Rovers 3 v 2 LWMC A

The Rovers and LWMC A met in the club on Tuesday night in a top of the table clash with Dan Sloan against Paul Wasson starting the match with Dan racing into a 2-0 lead after some good scoring. Paul wasn’t to be denied so easily though and would take the next two legs to level the game at 2-2 and send the game to a decider. The final leg would see both players go for the win but it would be Dan

to take out 93 for a 3-2 win, 1-0 Rovers. The second game of the night would see Damien Corbett against Paul McGuinness in a game that would go the full five legs and it would be Damien to take the early lead with a 86 CO. Paul would level in the second leg though with a 48 CO in 20 darts to make it 1-1 overall. The third leg would see Damien regain the lead after some good scoring and it would be Paul to level the game in the fourth to send the game to a decider. The final leg would see both players go for the win but it would be Paul to get the double and seal the 3-2 win and make it 1-1 overall. The third game of the night would see Conor Hanna against Paul McCarton with Conor getting the double in an even first leg between the two and he would further extend his lead in the second leg after continuing his good scoring. The third leg would see Conor seal the 3-0 win by taking out tops in 19 darts to make it 2-1 Rovers. The fourth game of the night would see John Doyle against John Dillon with John racing into a 2-0 lead after some good scoring. JD would break back though and would take the third leg to half the deficit with a 22 dart leg. The comeback would be short-lived though as John would take the fourth leg in 23 darts to seal the 3-1 win and make it 3-1 Rovers. The fifth game of the night would see John Turley against Davey McCusker and it would be Davey to take the early lead in an even contest between the two players. The second leg would see Davey extend his lead as he would get the double in 20 darts for a 2-0 lead and he would comeback in the third leg to seal the 3-0 win after taking out tops, final score 3-2 Rovers.

Glenpark Rebels 3 v 2 Glenpark Celtic

The two Glenpark teams would met on Tuesday night in their own derby match with Brian Kerr (BK) and Brian George (BG) starting the match, and in an even first leg it would be BK to take the early lead. BK would further extend his lead in the second leg with a 100 CO in 15 darts, both players would continue to throw well in the third leg but it would be BK to seal the 3-0 win by taking out tops in 21 darts, 1-0 Rebels. The second game of the night was between John McCann and Jim Flanagan in a game that would go the full five legs and it would be Jim to take the first leg by taking out tops in 25 darts, John however wouldn’t be behind for long and would level in the 2nd leg to make it 1-1. Both players continued to play well and Jim would regain the lead in the third leg with a 69 CO in 21 darts to make it 2-1 and the fourth leg would see John once again level the game at 2-2 with a 25 dart leg to set up the decider. Both players would go all out for the win in the deciding leg but it would be John to take the leg in 22 darts and seal the 3-2 win, 2-1 Rebels. The third game of the night would see Joe Flannery against Frankie McGeough with Joe taking the early lead with a 22 dart leg that included a 180! And Joe would further extend his lead as he would seal the 2nd leg with another 22 darter, 2-0. The third leg would see Frankie half the deficit with a 100 CO in 27 darts but the comeback would be short-lived as Joe would take the fourth leg with a 94 Co in 23 darts, 3-0 Rebels. The fourth game of the night would see Gerard Holmes against Kevin Mezza in a game that would go the distance and it would be Gerard to take the early lead with a 27 dart leg, both players were scoring well throughout the game and it would be Kevin to level the game in the second leg with a 48 CO in 20 darts. Kevin would then take the lead for the first time in the 3rd leg with a 27 dart, the lead would be short-lived though as Gerard would level the game at 2-2 in the 4th leg with a 29 darter. With the game evenly balanced at 2-2 both players would go out for the win but it would be Kevin to take out 48 in 24 dart to seal the 3-2 win, 3-1 overall. The fifth and final game of the night would see John McGrath against Pearse Maguire and again the game would go the full five legs with Pearse taking the 1st leg for the early lead although John would hit straight back an make it 1-1 with a 27 dart leg. With the game evenly balanced between the two players, Pearse would regain the lead in the 3rd with a 19 dart leg that would include a 180! John wasn’t to be denied so easily though and once again he would level the match with a 23 dart leg to send the game to a decider. Both players had scored well throughout the game but it would be Pearse to seal the 3-2 win by taking out 60 in 17 darts, final score 3-2 Rebels.

Comancheros 2 v 3 LWMC B

The Comancheros welcomed LWMC B on Tuesday night with both teams looking to build on their points totals, the first game of the night would see Dan Henry against Joe McKee with the game going the full five legs, Dan would start the better of the two as he would take the 1st leg for the early lead, Joe wasn’t to be denied so easily though and would take the next two legs for a 2-1 lead. Dan would comeback in the fourth leg to level at 2-2 and with the game going to a decider it would be Dan to take the fifth leg and the 3-2 win. The second game of the night would see Stevie Flood against Kevin Morrow face off in an even contest between that would ultimately come down to the doubles and it would be Stevie to record a 3-0 win to make it 2-0 overall. The third game of the night would see Kann Eralp against Jimmy Lagan in a game that would the full five legs with Jimmy taking the early lead , both players would score well throughout the game and it would be Kann to take the next two legs for the lead. Jimmy wasn’t to be outdone so easily though and he would level the gam in the 4th leg and take the game to a decider. The f5th and final leg would see both players go all out for the win but it would be Jimmy to get the double and seal the 3-2 win, 2-1 overall. The fourth game of the night would see Sharon Bannon against Conor O’Neill with Conor racing into a 2-0 lead after some good scoring. Sharon wasn’t to be beaten so easily though and would half the deficit by taking the third leg to make it 2-1, the comeback would be short-lived though as Conor would take the fourth leg to seal the 3-1 and make it 2-2 overall. The final game of the night would see Mark McAlinden against Connor Burns to decide the game, both players would share the first two legs in an even contest. With the game evenly balanced it would be Connor to take the next two legs to seal the 3-1 win and the 3-2 for LWMC B.

Allsorts 2 v 3 Warriors

The Allsorts welcomed the Warriors to the Cornerhouse on Tuesday night with Noel Hillick and John Mahon starting the match in what was an even contest between the two players and it would be John to take the early lead with a 25 dart leg and he would further extend his lead after taking the 2nd leg as well. The third leg would see John wrap up the 3-0 win with another 25 dart leg to make it 1-0 Warriors. The second game of the night would see Gavin Mawhinney and Tommy Castles face off with Gavin racing into a 2-0 lead that included a 55 CO. Tommy wasn’t giving up easily though and he would take the 3rd leg to half the deficit to make it 2-1, Gavin however would take the fourth leg to seal the 3-1 win and make it 1-1 overall. The third game of the night would see Stephen McGuigan Jnr against Jonathan McWilliams in a game that would go the full five legs. Jonathan would start the better of the two players as he would race into a 2-0 lead after some good scoring, Stephen wasn’t to be denied so easily though and would take the next two legs to level the game at 2-2. The final leg would see both players go for the win but it would be Jonathan to get the double and seal the 3-2 win, 2-1 Warriors. The fourth game of the night would see Jim Teer against CJ Rosbotham and it would be Jim to take the early lead after getting the double, CJ would hit straight back though and level the game in the 2nd leg at 1-1. The next two legs would see CJ score well and get the doubles to seal the 3-1 win, 3-1 Warriors. The final game of the night would see Tommy Daly against Hugh Russell in a game that would go the full five legs and it would be Tommy to race into a 2-0 lead after getting the doubles. Hugh wasn’t to be denied so easily though and would take the next two legs to level the game at 2-2, this would include a 26 dart leg. The final and deciding leg would see both players have the chance to win the game but it would be Tommy to get the double and seal the 3-2 win, final score 3-2 Warriors.

 

 

Shamrock 2 v 3 LWMC C

The Shamrock Kennedy welcomed LWMC C to the Shamrock on Tuesday night with Marie McKearvey and Tony Kerr starting the game and in an even contest that would come down to the doubles it would be Tony to seal the 3-0 that included a 26 dart leg. The second game of the night would see Jennifer Rules seal a 3-0 win to make it 1-1 overall. The 3rd game of the night would see Madeleine Keys against Tommy Ryan and Tommy would take the first leg in 18 darts for the early lead. The next two legs would see Tommy continue his good scoring to seal the 3-0 win and make it 2-1 overall. The fourth game of the night would see Marie Fusco face off against Charlie Curley and in an even contest it would be Marie to take the early lead. Both players were scoring well throughout but with it coming down to the doubles it would be Marie to extend her lead in the 2nd leg and the third leg would see Marie sealing the 3-0 win to make it 2-2 overall. The final game of the night would see Jacqui Canning against Henry Carson and it would be Henry to take an even first leg for the early lead. The second leg would see Henry further extend his lead with a 22 dart leg after good scoring throughout and the 3rd leg would see Henry seal the 3-0 win to make the final score 3-2 LWMC C.
